VISN 16 Network Director meets with Mississippi Council of Veterans’ Organizations


VISN 16—Dr. Skye McDougall, Network Director VISN 16, met with members of the Mississippi Council of Veterans’ Organizations, Oct. 10, 2017. The Network Director discussed VA top priorities with the board members, to include VISN 16 Telehealth initiatives, personnel recruitment, suicide prevention, and the Choice program.

Randy Reeves, Executive Director for the Mississippi State Veterans Affairs Board, was also in attendance. Congressional offices of Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS), Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), Representative Gregg Harper (R-MS), and Representative Steven Palazzo (R-MS) were represented. Other topics on the agenda included claims and appeals, Veterans home loans, and statewide Veterans events.

“Attending state level meetings with advocates who stand on behalf of Veterans is critical to the message of Veterans Affairs,” said McDougall. “The women and men who represent this board expect VA involvement, at all levels. I want to be involved.”
