Eight Biloxi pickleballers won 10 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals in the National Veterans Golden Age Games held in Biloxi, Mississippi, May 7-11. They were awarded medals in track & field, boccia, badminton, and table tennis. Thirty-one volunteers from the MS Gulf Coast pickleball group provided three days of pickleball clinics to veterans competing in the National Veterans Golden Age Games. Pickleball is scheduled to be a competition sport in the 2018 Games in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Team Biloxi of the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System will be participating in next year's Games with a large contingency of athletes.
